Zacatecas is currently accepting submissions for our Spring 2005 edition.

Our staff is looking for polished, powerful work with a contemporary feel that reflects life outside the East Coast ivory tower. In fiction, we like a tight plot (usually) and the unusual turn of phrase (always). In poetry, we're looking for Zen-like constructions that reflect reality like so much glitter. And when it comes to comics, we're pure punk rock. So submit away, and may the Force be with you.

Fiction or poetry should be sent in the body of an e-mail along with a short (approx. 40 words) bio. Send no more than one story or 3-5 poems at a time. For audio or visual works, send a web address where the work can be viewed or downloaded. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but we ask that you notify us right away if a piece is accepted elsewhere. Send submissions to:

By submitting to Zacatecas you are offering us first time publication rights online and the right to maintain the work in our archives (online and in CD-rom format). After publication, rights revert back to the author. We are currently unable to pay, but do occasionally put out a CD of back issues for our authors.
